Australian Psychological Society (APS) Webinar Series
Delivered as a national three-part webinar series through the APS titled “Working with Dissociative Identities – the not-so-rare diagnosis”, provided clinicians with a practical and integrative approach to understanding and working with clients with dissociative identities (DID). The series brought together neuro-affirming frameworks, evidence-based tools and trauma-informed practice to support psychologists in applying these principles confidently and ethically in their work. As an official APS-run event, it offered approved continuing professional development for practitioners and was later made available on demand to reach clinicians across Australia.
Risk Assessment with Dissociative Identities Workshop
Delivered a practical workshop for psychologists focusing on assessing and managing risk when working with individuals with dissociative identities. The session explored how risk can present across different parts/headmates, and how clinicians can apply trauma-informed frameworks to support safety, stabilisation and ethical decision-making. It emphasised the translation of theory into practice, providing space for participants to reflect on cases to strengthen their confidence and apply learning immediately within their current work.
True Colours: Specialist Trans and Gender Diverse Health Service
Delivered a customised two-part professional development workshop for True Colours NSW, a multidisciplinary service supporting trans and gender-diverse youth. The training was tailored for psychologists, nurses, and other relevant medical professionals, focusing on the assessment, impacts and treatment of Dissociative Identity Disorder in young people. Content integrated the following: understanding and applying diagnostic criteria, recognising clinical presentations within a trans and gender-diverse health context, exploring the intersections of trauma, gender and neurodivergence, and refining approaches to risk assessment and collaborative multidisciplinary care. The program included a half-da educational workshop followed by a live reflective and skills-based session, providing both structured learning and applied integration.
University of Queensland Guest Lecture
Delivered a lecture for Master of Psychology students at the University of Queensland, focusing on the foundations of parts work and dissociation within therapeutic practice. The session supported early-career psychologists to recognise and respond to dissociative experiences with curiosity, attunement, and ethical consideration. Through discussion and reflection, participants explored how to integrate relational and trauma-informed principles into their developing clinical frameworks, fostering confidence and care in their work with complexity.
